Lord Brahma Temple, Pushkar

The temple structure was built in the 14th century and some of the construction of the temple was done later. The temple is situated on the Banks of the famous Pushkar lake. The deity in the temple is that of four headed Lord Brahma with his consort Gayatri. A festival is conducted on the Kartik Poornima and large number of piligrims come to take bath in the Pushkar lake. It is believed that Lord Brahma himself choose this location for this temple. In the 8th century, Adi Shankara renovated the temple.
The deity in the temple of Lord Brahma is made of white marble. The temple is opened throught out the day for worship during winters as well as summers. There are three arati’s that happen during any given day: Mangala Arati, Sandhya Arati and Ratri Shayan arati.
The temple is around 20 kilometers from Ajmer and is easily accessible by road. The best time to visit the temple is during October and November as one can be a part in the famous festival during the Kartik Poornima. Also, the weather is pleasant during this time.
