Vaishno Devi temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga in Katra at Trikuta mountains situated in Jammu & Kashmir, which is a Northern state in India. One can start his journey from Katra. The Bhawan is around 13.5 kilometers from Katra and various modes are available to reach Bhawan, namely Ponies, Palanquins and Electric Vehicles. One can also reach Sanjichhat which is around 10 kilometers from Katra by a Helicopter, however the flights are limited to good weather conditions. Millions of devotees from India and abroad come to do this Yatra across the year. It is believed that Mata Vaishno Devi met Pandit Shiridhar at Darshani Darwaza in the form of a girl child. There are two tracks available to reach the temple. The second and the new one that is built very recently is quite convienent. A geological study of the Holy Cave has indicated that the age of the cave is around a million years.

Board a Train from New Delhi to Katra
Come to Jammu by Air and hire a taxi to Katra. Buses are also available at regular intervals.

- Carry valid ID proofs in case you want to board a Helicopter.

- One has to get a Yatra Parchi from Katra, which when shown at the Bhawan one would be allowed to go to the Bhawan. The parchi can be obtained online as well as in Katra.
